Exploring Cricut - Happy Thursday

Hello! The snow will hopefully be melting soon with some much needed weather in the 50s. I am trying to get  some organizing done and ran across an idea for all those pesky cards we keep in our wallets (like Michael's rewards, etc.) that take up so much room.

I had an extra Altroid tin and decided to make a place to keep all those extra cards. The nice thing about this is that I used the burgundy trim on the outside of the tin to match my paper; so I only covered the top and left the inside alone.

I went to my go to cartridge, Paisley, and found a fun mushroom to add to the front. I added some Stickles and an extra flower for some more dimension.

If you decide to make a tin for your extra cards, be sure when using to open the tin so the lid acts as a tray when you are searching for the card you need. That way they will not all fall on the floor. If you really want to get crazy, you could even alphabetize the cards!!!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

Exploring Cricut - Happy Easter!

Hello! It's almost Easter and Exploring Cricut has another great challenge. This time you are to create a card, layout or project with an Easter theme. I chose an image from 3 Birds On Parade for my card. I don't feel ready at all for this holiday and it is right around the corner. Between snow and being sick it's been super busy. This card is great to mass produce and that is what I need right now:)

The shape of the card was found on Birthday Bash and was perfect for my egg theme. I used my Gypsy to size up the front of the card so that I could add patterned paper over it. This will also fit in an A2 envelope! I hid the eyes with my Gypsy and added fun googly eyes and some yellow Stickles. The chick was popped up and I completed the ears with some Diamond Stickles.

The shell was adhered to the inside and Happy Easter was stamped.  Super simple CAS card.

Sketchy Friday #12

It's time for a new sketch at Sketchy Friday and once again Sonia has an fantastic one for inspiration!

I chose this darling SKdigis fish. Isn't she happy and of course, she needed some sparkle. What would we do without Stickles?? I used a yellow and blue to give her some pizzazz. I used Silhouette Design Edition to color in my fishy and her bubbles.

Exploring Cricut - Hello Tulip

Hello! I have a fun spring card to share with you today at Exploring Cricut. The snow has finally melted and we are hoping for blue skies and 70 degree weather tomorrow. In honor of spring, I thought I would create a shape card using the papers from Little Yellow Bicycle. It is a spring pack that I got last year and the papers are all so bright and cheery.

The base of the card was cut with an 6x6 sheet of white paper. I created the size to fit in a 5 x 7 envelope. I then sized a circle (pattern paper) to fit slightly smaller than the base of the card. The yellow scallop circle was adhered on top of the pattern paper.

The tulip really went together nicely. I used an olive green for the shadow instead of black to coordinate with the pattern paper. I used the largest PK face from Happy Lashes and colored the tongue with a Copic marker. I used pop dots under the tulip. Looking through my stash, I found the stamp "hello" that tucked nicely in between the leaves of the tulip.

Exploring Cricut-Luck O' The Irish

It's challenge time at Exploring Cricut. The challenge is to create any card, layout or project using a shamrock and your Cricut, of course!

I created this card using a couple cartridges and really love this color green because it looks so springy. Our mountains of snow have finally melted after some rain this weekend and it smells like spring. I hope we don't get anymore snow; but never say never in the midwest!

After running the medallion through the Cuttlebug I used Diamond Stickles on the Swiss Dots to give a little shimmer.

Sketchy Friday #10 - This Bud's For You

Hello! Glad you stopped by as today is Sketchy Friday and a new sketch to play with. I'm so glad it is Friday as it has been busy, busy at our house. We are doing some DIY projects and getting ready for our new puppy. It was great to get into my craft room and play with Bo the Dragonfly.

I colored him with my Silhouette and of course used Stickles to give him that extra shine. Isn't he darling? You can get him over at the SKdigis Shop. The sentiment is also an SKdigis.

Here is the sketch for this week. Remember, you have until Thursday to enter your project and I hope you decide to join in the fun. Have a great weekend!!
