Halloween Tea Lights

Tomorrow is the beginning of the So What's New Blog Hop and I can't wait to participate. It is my first hop and think it will be so much fun! I will be giving Blog Candy away too. Yippee!!

Today, I'm recycling to make a fun craft. I found this idea here and decided to give it a try. The possibilities are endless with this and great for kids to help. If I still was a Girl Scout Leader this would have definitely been on the must do list. My younger daughter helped paint and had a blast.

Picture at night so you can see the illumination.

I decided that I didn't want just faces because my cricut would have felt left out. So, on a couple we chose some images and used the negative to paint the image on. We painted the base colors first and waited for it to dry. I would recommend waiting a fair amount on the drying just so the base doesn't peel off when adding another layer.

Finally, shellac the heck out of it to protect it from weather and make it shiny. These are great indoors or outdoors. I tried the battery operated tea light and found it didn't seem to illuminate as well as the real tea light.

Recipe:
Acrylic Paint
Glass jars of any size (I used recycled pasta jars)
Painter's Tape
Polyurethane Spray
Sponge paint brush
Tealight

Thanks for stopping by:)
