Exploring Cricut Daily Project - Gone With The Breeze

Hello! I'm so glad you stopped by because it is my turn to share a project for Exploring Cricut. I decided to keep with the spring theme and do a 2 page layout from recent kite flying earlier this month. It was a beautiful breezy day and my daughter really enjoyed herself. She was very intent on her flying and was making the funniest faces.

So, on with the project. Usually for kite flying I choose cuts that are kites; but I wanted to use something equally as fun in a breeze - hence - the pinwheel. I found these adorable ones on A Child's Year that luckily had a layer too.  The papers I chose were so busy that I opted to not do mats behind my pictures.

Using my Gypsy, I welded the word "spring" into the tag and then cut. I just placed a scrap of pink paper behind the word.

This was the bird that was cut out from the tag. You can see the glitter a little better on this picture.

Recipe:
12 x 12 2 page layout
Papers - DCWV, Bazzill
Pink mat - A Child's Year 10"
Pinwheel - A Child's  Year 4.71", 3.63", 2.96"

Fuzzy Flowers

Good Morning! I wanted to share a card that I made in multiples. It was fast and great to have on hand for a thank you. Have any of you used the Flower Soft product. This was my first time and it was so simple. I worried that because it was so fine it would be like the glitter that sticks to you:) It really wasn't that bad. I did use tweezers to place it on the flower. I found that using my fingers made more of a mess.

Recipe:
A2 card base
Flowers - Straight From the Nest 2.29"
Grass Strip - Straight From the Nest 1.94"
Sentiment - My Creative Time
Papers - Scraps

Exploring Cricut Daily Project - Happy Spring!

Good Morning! Hope everyone is having a great week. It is my turn at Exploring Cricut to share my project with you. I am stuck on birds lately. I think this cartridge is super cute with all the different styles and phrases you can cut. There is also a font that has cute bird feet on the letters.

I popped the middle section of the umbrella up to give it some dimension.

Here is the layout that I used to cut all at one time.

For the umbrella I used the hide feature to separate the cuts for the papers I wanted to use.

This is the inside of the card. I inked the edges with black ink.

Recipe:
A2 card base
Papers - Packet of 8x8 papers from Archiver's and Bazzill
Bird and Umbrella - 3 Birds On Parade
Sentiment - My Pink Stamper
Black ink, pop dots

There is still time to enter the challenge "food frenzy" at Exploring Cricut. Hope you decide to join us:)

Missing In Action

Hi Everyone! Sorry for not posting or commenting on your blogs as often as I normally do. I have been staying with my parents since Sunday, the 4th, because my Mom had surgery Monday, the 5th, for bunion and hammertoes. She is nonweightbearing for 4 weeks. She is on the mend and will hopefully have the other foot done in about 6 months or so. I miss my craft room but am thankful that I am able to help them. My Dad broke his hip in July and hasn't been driving so essentially I have been running 2 calendars since that time. I will say it has been much easier while the kids are on spring break for me to be in one house. I am thankful my husband is holding down the fort in our home:)

I will have a post Thursday for Exploring Cricut so I hope you stop back by then. Don't forget to enter our current challenge "food frenzy". It can be any type of project containing at least one item of food. Can't wait to see what you all create:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Exploring Cricut Challenge #11 - "Food Frenzy"

Good morning! It's time for another challenge at Exploring Cricut. The challenge today is to create a project with food. I decided to do a favorite food of mine, ice cream. Yummy;) Hope you like it and join in the fun too.

I used a snow marker (bought at Archiver's) to get the look of whipped cream for my sundae. I just dabbed the marker where I wanted the cream and then heated to get the raised look.

Recipe:
A2 card base
Sundae - Birthday Bash  4"
Sentiment - Birthday Bash 2.32"
Cuttlebug embossing folder on Leaf
Glossy Accents on spoon and cherry
Snow marker

How About A Color Challenge!

Good Morning! Where did this week go! It won't be long before Spring Break is here and then not much more before school is out. Feels like we just started. I guess times does fly as you get older. I think it needs to slow down a little so I can catch up:)

Today I am sharing a card that I created using mainly Paisley. Have you ever bought a cartridge for a particular cut, but when you get the cart it's not the first cut that you use? Well, that was Paisley for me. I bought the cartridge because of the cute dolls. After all this time, I am finally using this sweet doll. As I have said in previous posts, this is one of my favorite cartridges. I am really pleased with how she came out and hope you like her too.

I used sequins and gems on the doll. I didn't have a purple gem so I put Stickles on a clear gem and it worked perfectly on the tag.

Exploring Cricut Daily Challenge - Butterflies in Flight

Good Morning! So happy to share with you for Exploring Cricut today. This is a card that I made for my sister's birthday. She likes purple and fleur-de-lis. I found an old paperstack that had perfect papers for my project. When working with papers that are not a heavy weight, it is always good to change the blade setting so you aren't tearing your paper.

Here is a handy sheet that I have attached to my Cricut lid that has saved paper for me over the years. This one was created by Joy at Obsessed with Scrapbooking. It is really helpful when cutting different materials.

Recipe:

A2 card base
Papers - Bazzill, DaisyD
Frame - Elegant Edges 4.58"
Rosette- Ribbons & Rosettes 3 @ 1.24", scored at 1/4" the entire length
Butterflies - Elegant Edges 0.88", 1.00", 1.12"
Ribbon - DaisyD
Gems - Recollections
Pop dots
