Exploring Cricut - Science Game

Hello! Today is my turn to share at Exploring Cricut and I have a fun school project you might enjoy. My youngest daughter asked to use the Cricut to create a board game for her science project.  This was a great project for the budget because we  had everything but extra dice, which we found at the $1 store. Gotta love that:)

My daughter chose to base her game loosely on the "Sorry" game. We started with a poster board and cut it down to a 20"x 20" square with the smaller squares measuring at 2 1/2". To make it more interesting, while learning, she added things like "draw again, lose a turn, etc.

One of the requirements for the project was to create 25 questions based on the subject matter, which was atoms and elements. She set to work choosing colors and shapes that would fit her theme. She used the gypsy to search for items. This can easily been done in CCR too. While I love my gypsy I do think searching for shapes is nice in CCR because it is a larger screen. You can hold the top button on the gypsy to enlarge the shape before selecting too.

The entire board was Mod Podged for a protectant. The "finish" piece was created by welding a circle and rectangle together in the Gypsy.

The game pieces were created with a button as the base, a wooden ball and Stickles. The ball was attached to the button with E6000 glue.

Recipe:
Foam core board cut down to 20 x 20

Exploring Cricut - Count Your Blessings Challenge

Happy Monday! Today is Count Your Blessings challenge at Exploring Cricut. You can create a card, layout or project with a Thanksgiving theme using your Cricut.

Hard to believe the holiday is almost here!! Are you ready? I think I would like the warmer weather to come back a little bit longer:) In preparing for the holiday I decided to create a 2 page layout for the season. We have a few things planned so these will come in handy for events.

I kept this pretty simple and dependent on what they will be used for may go back and add a few touches here and there. Sometimes it is nice to do a CAS before taking pictures to have on hand. It sure makes it easy to embellish and not have to create an entire layout.

Recipe:
2 12x12 pages
Papers - Bo Bunny and Bazzill
Title - 3 Birds on Parade 2.19"
Pilgrim Bird - 3 Birds on Parade 4.08"
Turkey - Simply Charmed 3.22"

Thanks for stopping by and remember you have until November 23rd to enter the challenge.

Exploring Cricut-Monster Jam

Hello! It's my turn to share at Exploring Cricut and I created with quite a few Cricut cartridges this time. We went to the Monster Jam Truck show and took quite a few pics. I narrowed it down to these and the rest will go in a clear sleeve fitting 12 pics.

I really struggled with creating this layout because I don't have any boy cartridges. However, in trying to think outside of the box I think this layout came through without them. I improvised on the images and hope you like what you see. The journaling spot on the second page was actually going to be for tickets, which I can't find. I'm hoping they turn up, but if not I will continue the rest of the journaling on what is already attached.

The dots were created by using Liquid Pearls to add a "rivet" look. I just realized that Ribbons and Rosettes would have been good to use too because the font on there already has the holes if you don't want to use the Liquid Pearls.

Recipe:
12 x 12 2 page layout
Papers - DCWV  and scraps
Title - Birthday Bash 1.23, shadow 1.31"
Green, Purple Grave Digger Car - Paper Dolls for Everyday 3.25"
Skeleton Face - Indie Art 1"
Superman Truck - Paper Dolls for Everyday 3.45"
Red Cape on Truck - Paper Doll Dress Up 5.15"
Shield - Create A Critter 1.46"
"S" - Birthday Bash 1"
Wheels on Truck - From My Kitchen 8.69", 12.07"
Flag - Paper Dolls for Everyday 7.62"

Exploring Cricut - Your Choice Challenge

Hello! The week flew by and it's time for another challenge at Exploring Cricut. The challenge this time is a "Cricut Choice." You can create a card, layout or project using 1 pattern paper, 2 Cricut cuts and 3 colors.

I am still working on layouts and I decided to create a 2 page layout of my husband running in the KC Zoo Run for the Penguins this year. Every year the run is dedicated to raise funds for a particular animal. There are so many fun penguins on cartridges it was hard to decide. I ended up with these 3 little cuties.

The arrow I will use for journaling.

I hid the faces on my Gypsy and used PK Critter Faces. I added white to the eyes, blush to the cheeks and yellow to the beaks. The little one is popped up with a pop dot. The paper underneath them was torn by hand.

Recipe:
2 12 x 12 page layout
Papers - DCWV, American Craft
Penguins-Simply Charmed
Faces - PK Critter
Title - All Mixed Up
Arrow - Gypsy Wanderings
Copic yellow marker, white gel pen, pink chalk, Waterfall Stickles
