Exploring Cricut - I Love My Pet!

It's challenge time at Exploring Cricut! The challenge is to create a card, layout or project about a pet you love. We have definitely had our share of a variety of pets from 4 legged to webbed feet (we currently have 2 dwarf frogs). This challenge comes at a great time for me because we will be getting a new puppy on March 19th and now I will have at least 1 layout done:)

We are getting a Sealyham Terrier and am so excited because the research I have done on these cuties is perfect for our family.

For the dog house, there is a spot to add a name in the white part above the door. Once we have picked the name I will add that to the plaque and then add a journaling block above the word cute.

I took the terrier from CAC and folded the ears down and rounded the tail to resemble more of what the dog will look like. I only cut 2 of the layers for the dog.

So, originally I was going to have the title say "what a ham" because they are supposed to like to clown around and also that is part of their name. However, I decided to add cute and the "sealy" part in a lighter color so that the "cute" and "ham" still stood out.

I think this paper is really fun for pets. I like the way it came out and hope you are inspired to create:)

Exploring Cricut - "April Showers Bring Us Flowers"

Good Morning! Did you all have a nice weekend? The holiday this weekend went by way to fast for me. But, today is super because it is another challenge at Exploring Cricut. The challenge this time is any project you would like using any Cricut flower. Simple right?

I am still catching up on my scrapbooking.  I decided, since my oldest will be 17 next month, I better get busy with last year's birthday. It seems when the kids were smaller I was able to keep up regularly with their pages. Now that they are older, I am a little behind. However, my goal is to at least try and have last year's event done before the new one rolls around. It is working so far:)

Okay, on with my project. I created this layout using Cindy Loo and Opposites Attract. "Girl" was welded together with my Gypsy. For the blue border I used the negative and saved the cut out for another page.

Recipe

12 x 12 page
Basic Grey papers and Bazzill
Flower - Cindy Loo 5"
Pink Flower Mat - Cindy Loo 9.62"
Yellow Circle -  Cindy Loo 7.92"
Border - Cindy Loo 1.08"
Sweet - Cindy Loo 3.52"
Girl - Opposites Attract 1.92"
Frame - Cindy Loo 2.69"
Stickles - Stardust

Okay, now it is your turn to create a project using a Cricut flower. Can't wait to see what you have!

Thank You Note Cards

Hi All! I made a few cards and wanted to share with you one that I found in the magazine Paper Crafts. I recreated it using various cartridges and just loved the look of it. I used my template in gypsy to make sure that it would fit the front of a 4 1/2" x 5" card.

I also decided to use the cut outs on other cards. I love when I can use everything up:) I was in a hurry, but I think I should have either hid the center flower marks or cut another flower on top to give it a cleaner look.

Recipe:

danke - Lyrical Letters 1" (welded together)
merci - Create a Critter 1"
gracias - Gypsy Font 1" (welded together)
thanks - Opposites Attract 1"
flower - Forever Young 1 1/2"
Stickles, Perfect Pearls, pop dots

DCWV October Sketch Challenge

I'm so glad to be working on some layouts. The challenge for October at DCWV Diary helped me get this one completed:)  I chose the Black Currant stack for this and would say it is a close second to my all time favorite Citrus. The papers are so pretty and perfect for my page.
